Suitable Muscle and Ligament Strengthening exercises for Arthritis

Strong muscles and ligaments help to hold the joints in place and affect joint movement.

·        weight training (light free weights only!)

·        exercise machines

·        isometrics exercises

·        elastic bands

·        hydrotherapy (resistive water) exercises

Choose the exercise(s) depending on personal preference, the type of arthritis involved, degree of  inflammation, and what the doctor or health therapist recommends.

Correct positioning is critical, because if done incorrectly, strengthening exercises can cause muscle tears, pain, and joint swelling.

Consult a doctor before choosing or engaging in any exercises.
